HOW WE WORK
Core values
Climate action framework
All activities are implemented to solve different aspects of the climate injustice.
Local knowledge
We are aware of the context where we operate and believe in adaptive and observant ways of knowing and doing that are unique to Malawi.
Human-centered design
People know their own problems best. Solutions must involve those who face the challenge.
Youth to youth
We see youth as drivers for change and cross-cultural youth to youth network as benefitting for everyone.
Entrepreneurial approach
We believe that an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset is important for change.
Anchoring
It is essential that all projects are implemented with the aim of having a long term impact on the community.
Partnerships
for a green future
Through strong partnerships we are committed to make a positive impact on our planet and local communities.
Green Alliance Program is our proud partnership with YEFCOT, GoGreen and Nkhata Bay District Council. In the partnership we are working hard to increase climate stability, biodiversity, a green environment and resilience in Nkhata Bay District, Malawi. The Green Alliance Program also aims to include other relevant actors in Nkhata Bay District when relevant to increase the impact.
The Green Alliance Program works in line with the Malawian Government's commitment to support the achievement of ‘UNs Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development’. Among other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the ‘Green Alliance Program’ focus on Climate Action (13), Life on Land (15) and Partnerships for the Goals (17).

Cultural exchange
Twice a year, we collaborate with Danish students from Mayoka Højskole, who engage in project work alongside young people from Nkhata Bay. Together, they co-create solutions through projects such as Trees for Tomorrow, No Waste in the Bay, and Climate Justice Activism. Over the course of three months, they work diligently to achieve the goals of these initiatives, all while building lasting connections.
“The best part was experiencing how excited the local community was about the project. It felt amazing to know we were contributing to something that really mattered to them. There was so much mutual respect between the project group and the local community. Whenever we shared ideas, they were on board and made sure everything stayed on track. They sang and danced every time we visited, and their energy was so contagious and uplifting.”
We believe in the power of cultural exchange because it goes beyond project outcomes—it brings people together. By prioritizing time for Danish students and local youth to socialize and explore each other's cultures, we foster mutual understanding and respect. These exchanges not only enrich the personal experiences of all participants but also strengthen international collaboration. In a global fight against climate change, learning from diverse perspectives is key to creating sustainable solutions.
“You really get to know people when you work closely together on a project where something is at stake. And you learn a lot about yourself when you’re collaborating with someone who sees life completely differently. My eye opener was when someone from the local community pulled me aside and told me the project had been life-changing for her. That was when I knew, that this way the right way to use my energy. Even now, I’m still volunteering for the Youth Hub back home from Denmark”
